New York Fashion Academy for Children (NYFAC)

A long time coming !

With New York being the Fashion Capital of the world and housing some of the the greatest fashion colleges , lets not forget the home of the infamous "Project Runway", we decided its time to introduce this one of a kind program.

This unique opportunity gives a jump start to the visions of many children having dreams of becoming  fashion designers, boutique owners,stylist,merchandisers,buyers,textile designers and also many that just want to have fun designing and sketching!  

This sucessful childrens program was originally created by fashion designer Denise Proctor in 1973 then piloted in 2000(see bio). 

 The mission was to develope a strong backdrop of confidence and guidence for children to learn and exercise what Mrs. Proctor believes is an inherent sense of creative ability and unscathed style!

There will be a series of 10 semi private fashion design classes with a culmination of techniques beginning with "The Art & Language of the Sketch",  building up to textile design then ultimately a finished product.

We will be catering to a very small group of children to focus on  their individual  needs so space will be limited . Register early to ...take your seat at the table.

NYFAC  has some of the most talented  instructors from the fashion industry and related fields that work incredibly well with children.

 We have alot of  exciting work to do, tell your young designer she can put down the computer fashion and work with a fashion designer !

New York Fashion Academy for Children had their "Hall Presentation" at the "Weft and Woven" showroom on Madison Ave.Friday April 17th.

These designers ages 9-12,created skirts from ribbon and cord,bubble wrap, candy wrappers, post cards and watercolored papertowels ,
