Westchester Fashion Academy for Children

The Westchester Fashion Academy for Children's mission is to teach children how to design fashion.

This is achieved by first getting a good foundation in learning how to sketch the model or croqui through various techniques . We then start introducing color, textiles etc.

Some talented designers can pick up fabric and drape their ideas, well we have spoken to some of the most talented drapers and patternmakers in the industry  about our students. 

PATTERN MAKING  ~ A

In order for us to start this patternmaking class, we need to know how many students would be interested. This deals with measurements, but is very satisfying to see your actual garment completed in pattern form. We would run this class for 10 sessions.

CONSTRUCTION ~ B

Once your garment pattern is completed you want to learn how to professionally put it together, how to construct it, or sew it. This is not your average sewing a simple piece and it does not have to be complicated just done professionally! As if you wanted to sell the garment to individuals. We would run this class for 10 sessions.
