NEW CLASSES
"Art & Language of the Sketch."
We've run this class in the past very successfully, but after much request our parents wanted more sewing,this is where we are at today! We have four classes dedicated to construction it's fantastic to see the children designing and making patterns then cutting and sewing their creations!
Many of our parents now miss the sketching,so we've decided to offer both.
Because the two art forms require a lot of time we cannot offer them both during one class.
So here it is Art & Language of the Sketch and/or Designer Sewing.

The Westchester Fashion Academy for Children's mission is to teach children how to design fashion.
This is achieved by first getting a good foundation in learning how to sketch the model or croqui through various techniques . We then start introducing color, textiles etc.
Some talented designers can pick up fabric and drape their ideas, well we have spoken to some of the most talented drapers and pattern makers in the industry about our students.It's agreed that the foundation of sketching is paramount to being a good designer.
Fashion Sketching has to be a part of your design itinerary, it's a must to properly have a dialog with buyers,clients and the industry !
