Westchester Fashion Academy for Children

 Thank you campers for an amazing summer ! 

We had fashion campers all the way from Puerto Rico,Kansas, and Canada!

We had a blast with all seven of our fashion related areas, and topped it off with meeting Tim Gunn  from "Project Runway",what a day!

We are planning for 2011,and look forward to meeting you at the Westchester Fashion Academy for Children's, Fashion Extravaganza or the Fashionista's Summer Day Camp experience next year!

Put us on your calendar as we are a private fashion camp and we only take a limited amount of campers to give them a fascinating experience!

 WFAC meets Tim Gunn form "Project Runway"!

          Campers visit the Elaphants Trunk,

"FASHION EXTRAVAGANZA" Day Camp 

                      (NO PEANUT BUTTER CAMP)

Mon-Fri-10:00~-3:00pm (extended day upon request). Ages 9-17.

 A. $500~July ~Preparation Week-campers prepare a professional portfolio ~ Learn sketching basics, fabric studies,create a trend board as designers do for inspiration and  take the Designer's Journey through music and travel to learn from many cultures  beading, fabric and color studies.

B. $1000~July ~ Critique Week-* complete portfolio and travel on the 17th to Elephants Trunk and Fashion District. We will be the guests of The Elephants Trunk,Katrina Patterns,C&JFabrics, Mood Fabrics, Hy Treasures, and Dakota Trimmings.

Our designs  will be critiqued by these  fashion industry professionals.

         Cost $500 prep~week                

Cost $ 1000 Critique Week 

Paid Registration before April 15th deduct $200 for Critique Week only . Cost of travel to NY City not included with this offer

 C. $700~August Fashion Sketching Camp

Students learn the sketching basics, They study the "Art & Language of the Sketch" and how to draw a model while sketching the various designs.

Tissue Textile and Fabric Collage in one week of fun during summer. 

D. $700~ August Fashion Textiles,Color Study

~ This gives a great and exciting foundation for fashion designers by studing color and learning how to paint the fabrics! Students create different styles of fabric with a native of  South India "Rajni", well known for her beautiful silk prints. Campers will make 2 styles of designs to proudly wear! 

E. $700~August  Designers Skirt  Pattern Making Ages

These children will  follow the same proceedure as the top designers do.They will learn the fundamentals of making a skirt pattern from our specialist.They will draft the pattern,lay out and cut and sew the skirt!

   F. $700~August  Costume Design

Study the history of cultures and their  costumes .Learn about the different  styles of design and create pieces based on the textiles and silhouettes each culture presents.

 900~ August  Fashion Live Model Study, for fashion design.(Not Offered this Summer)

 Learn how the designers sketch outfits quick and easy, by studying the live model and her moves.(our classy  model wears a bathing suit) Our fashion artist teaches model movement,shading and form to achieve the best results for designing clothes. -----------------------------
